In an industry that places workplace health and safety as a top priority we’re honoured to announce that since our inception on March 22nd, 2000 until July 12th, 2018 we’ve clocked an impressive 6,686 days without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) being recorded.
At Hassalls, we’re proud to say that we hold a long-standing commitment and a proven track record of very high safety standards. We put our people first and place great value on ensuring our workforce remains as safe as possible at all times, across all our projects and sales in the Mining and Oil & Gas Sectors.
Hassalls zero LTI frequency rate is the leading industry high safety record. We believe this sets the bar for our sector and shows other market players that keeping workers safe is possible and should be a focus for everyone.
Our recent acquisition by Pickles—Australia’s largest auction and valuation specialist —has helped to further our safety commitment. Pickles brings an exceptional level of integrity to workplace safety and a strong focus on methods of continued improvement.
“Safety is a huge priority in the mining and oil and gas sector. Pickles is the only auction house nationally accredited to AS/NZS 4801:2001 certification standards. We also hold the ISO 14001 environmental certification, which means we adhere to the international standard that outlines the requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). We are working closely with the team to ensure our staff and clients are benefitting from the best-in-class policies and procedures,” said Steve Wall, Hassalls' General Manager.
To manage safety in real-time for all staff nationally, Hassalls utilises Skytrust, a cloud-based integrated management system providing safety, environment, inductions, assets, and toolbox talks, hazard and incident reporting. Skytrust also offers a plant management approach to our organisation’s compliance and due diligence across all aspects of the business.
It is within the Hassalls value system to ensure the highest safety standards are maintained across the country. Which is why, practices such as astringent contractor management system, a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety team, and regular third-party external audits are being integrated across all Hassalls' branches.
With our impressive safety performance to date, we only hope to continue operating with such positive runs on the board. The Hassalls team truly look forward to breaking the 7,000-day barrier ahead of us!
